Welcome to Heirloom! By using our web app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the platform.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

  • Anyone may use Heirloom. There are no age restrictions.
  • Creating an account is required to access the app’s features.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.

2. Paid Features & Subscriptions

  • Heirloom offers a monthly subscription for premium features, including AI-powered chat.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing date.
  • Payments are securely processed through Stripe. We do not store your card information.
  • Refunds are offered on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of purchase for consideration.
  • We reserve the right to limit AI chat usage to prevent abuse (e.g., usage exceeding typical fair use patterns).

3. Acceptable Use

  • You agree to use Heirloom for lawful, personal learning purposes only.
  • You may not reverse-engineer, copy, or resell any part of the app or its content.
  • You may not attempt to overload or abuse the AI or platform in any way.

4. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your account if we detect misuse or violation of these terms.
  • You can delete your account at any time via your settings.

5. Third-Party Services

Heirloom uses trusted third-party services, including but not limited to Supabase (authentication and database), Stripe (payment processing), OpenAI (AI features), and other APIs (e.g., Wikipedia). By using Heirloom, you agree to their respective terms.

6. Disclaimers

  • Heirloom is provided “as is” and “as available.”
  • We make no guarantees of accuracy, availability, or results.
  • You use the app at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Heirloom and its creator(s) are not liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of the app.

8. Arbitration & Dispute Resolution

Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than court proceedings. You waive the right to a trial by jury or to participate in class actions. This clause protects both you and us from costly legal disputes.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of major changes via email or in-app notifications.
